Shipping containers are designed to be wind and watertight and handle a lot of damage, but as soon as you start modifying it and cutting holes into the steel, it is no longer as weather-tight or durable.

That is why you need to reinforce the can and seal up any area that is modified to make it as wind and watertight as possible.

We use Container Modification World’s Roll Up Door Kit because it reinforces the container and is designed to keep as much water out as possible (always silicone where you can to prevent any stray water from getting inside).
